Across the rushing rapids and river in the black snowless mountains of Wales, the pale naked girl was propped up against the rotting pine tree trunk, her bony toes tucked under her and arms wrapped around her knees, her head upon them and her dark copper hair brushing around her waist in the warm summer breeze. She shivered with the wind, pulling her knees closer to her chest.
She heard a snicker, lifted her head, her eyes wide with caution darting back and forth.
“Relax.” Said a seductive voice above her.
A gasp slipped out of the girl’s plump lips; she twisted to face the voice. The figure moved so the bottom half of her face was visible, a twisted smile played on the rouge lips. The figure jumped from the tree, the cowering girl turned to get up but a once manicured hand firmly lowered her back to the ground.
“Stay.”
The girl quivered in her crouch.  The brunette figure was wearing a long yellow buttoned up shirt that looked as though it had been fitted for someone five times her size and a small diving knife tucked into a leather strap tied to her left thigh. She held out her long fingered hand, the girl took it.
“You’re naked.”  The girl looked bewildered. “No clothes.” She said tugging at her shirt.
“Oh” the red head sunk back to the floor and hid herself.
“Come with me, I’ll find you something.” Once again, she extended her hand towards the girl; the girl looked down at her chest then glanced at the brunette sheepishly and sighed.  The girl signalled for the brunette to turn around; sighing she did so, the girl took her hand and stood up, luckily her hair covered her breasts.
They walked, the naked girl closely behind the brunette, until they came to an abandoned house not far from the forest they had just left.
“Wait here.” The girl jumped over the wall flashing her turquoise pants, and climbed through the broken window into the lonely house. She came out carrying a pair of orange underpants, a green under-wired bra and an oversized off white shirt. She threw them to the girl hiding in the dying bush by the gate. The girl hastily put them on, asking for help with the bra.
“Roxanna.” The brunette said, extending her hand once more. The girl smiled unsurely and took her hand as she had done before. “What are you doing?” Roxanna asked. The girl shrugged causing the white shirt to fall off her shoulder; Roxanna pulled the shirt back on and did the buttons up a little further.  “You have to have a name, right?” She looked at the girl and the girl looked blankly back at her. “They must have called you something, right?” Nothing. “I am Roxanna, you are...” Still nothing. “What’s this?” Roxanna said grabbing the silver band around the girl’s thin wrist. She shrugged.
“Don’t talk much do you?” she looked at the engraving on the inside of the band. “XX-00345,” she read, “what does that mean?” The question was answered with the usual shrug. “You’re weird. You don’t know who you are. Where did you come from?”
“Relax?” the girl asked looking up at her. ‘Oh man, this is gunna be a slow process’ Roxanna thought.
“Yes, it means calm down, un-tense your muscles. Breathe.” The girl looked thoughtful. Roxanna sighed. “I guess I have to teach you the English language if you’re ever gunna communicate.” She sighed. For the next few days the two girls sat cross-legged facing each other in front of a fallen log talking. Luckily she was a fast learner, by the end of the week they were having proper intellectual convosations.

“So, I have no name. I don’t know where I came from. I don’t know what I am capable of.” Roxanna didn’t know how to respond to the girl’s statement. “I don’t know anything about myself. How sad does that sound?”
“Honestly quite sad. Fight me.” Roxanna got in her usual combat pose, fists balled up protecting her face and legs bent.
“What?”
“You heard me. Fight me, you don’t know what you’re capable of and I can take it.”
“If you’re sure...”
“I am sure. Now fight.” The girls fought for a short while. Roxanna got pinned down more than she pinned the other girl, who still had no name, down.
“Wow. You’re amazing!” Roxanna said accepting a hand up, “I’m gunna call you Tor as in Tornado.” The newly named Tor grinned.
“Really?” Roxanna nodded and Tor’s grin widened.
“Right, so come on then, what now?” Roxanna asked as they walked passed a high fence and a huge black metal gate with a silver sign which said ‘Wallford Research Laboratories’ in bold letters. “Hello? What now? Tor?” Tor had stopped in front of the gate and was trying to peer inside the fencing. “Tor, what is it?”
“There’s something about this place that feels ... familiar.”
“I ain’t never seen it before.” Roxanna said tugging at Tor’s sleeve.
“Me either. It’s just sorta familiar.” Roxanna laughed and pushed her in the direction of the woods.
“What’s in there, you s’pose?” Tor asked poking her head between two large black bars and gripping two more to prevent being peeled away.
“Dunno, let’s go.” Tor reluctantly let go and they walked into the woods, Tor looking back to see if anybody had left.

Tor hurled the make-shift plate across the dining room, in the same run down house as Roxanna got their clothes from, and it smashed against the cold coloured wall paper.
“Oi, I didn’t make that just for you to chuck everywhere!” Roxanna said standing up, “Eat it.”
“Fuck. You.” She hissed. And with that Tor tore out the building, pulling things off the shelves as she passed.
“Her fucking outbursts are going to be the death of me one day...” Roxanna commented as she dove into a fridge full of blood packs from various hospitals and blood banks. She never really liked blood that much but she thought it kept her alive, like a vampire; she thought she was a vampire. Truth be told she was more human than Tor and anyone she had ever known. Roxanna gazed out the glassless window frame  thinking of what might be behind the gate, feeling guilty for shouting at Tor when really she wanted more than anything in that moment to find out what was happening in the labs.
Meanwhile Tor was darting in and out of shadows of the laboratory premises, finding a way to climb over a fence and into the building, it wasn’t long until she saw a grown oak tree over hanging the black railings, she quickly and quietly climbed the tree and was hiding amongst the golden leaves waiting for the time to slip from the tree and get into the buildings that contained so much secrecy and wonder.

Other ideas.

Somewhere ‘Tor’ a.k.a. xx-00345’s programme, herself, gets activated after she broke into the labs that was once her former ‘home’, where she was made
